DoubleTree Suites in Disney Springs

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando - Disney Springs Area is an all-suites hotel that provides an nice option for larger groups and families visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. The hotel offers spacious accommodations and even connecting suites that creates a shared space for up to 12 guests. There is a very nice outdoor area with a swimming pool, pool bar and lounging space. The hotel is within walking distance of Disney Springs though shuttle service is offered in the evening.

Exclusive Disney Benefits: As one of the seven Disney Springs Good Neighbor hotels, this resort offers benefits that you cannot get at most non-Disney hotels. This hotel can be booked as part of a Disney World vacation package and has partnered with Disney to offer some wonderful benefits usually only available to guests at the official on-site hotels like:

• Complimentary bus transportation to the Disney theme parks,

• Early Theme Park access to all four Disney World theme parks, 30-minutes ahead of the general public (ticket required).

• Guests at this hotel receive a Disney Springs Passport to Savings booklet with Disney Springs discount.

DoubleTree Suites Pro & Con

Advantages: Extended families and groups of friends love to visit Disney World together and the DoubleTree Suites allow them to relax together while still having enough space to stretch out. The suites can sleep up to six guests or seven, if the seventh is a baby in a crib. The price varies but is often a little higher than the family suites at Disney’s All-Star Music resort and comparable to the family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort or the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort but much cheaper than the Disney World deluxe villas that can accommodate six guests. Many of at the Disney World resorts are large with multiple buildings and external walkways so it can be a bit of a hike to get to transportation or the food court but the DoubleTree has internal halls and a spacious lobby featuring a Disney gift shop and restaurant. These features and the smaller size of the hotel are really wonderful for families with small children, guests with mobility issues and anyone who appreciates the convenience of having everything in one place. Proximity to Disney Springs is another nice feature of this hotel. The transportation to the Disney theme parks is reliable, has great hours and is far, far superior to that of most off-site hotels that advertise shuttles. You do not pay daily resort fees at this location when booked as part of a Disney vacation package; daily resort fees apply when booked separately. The on-site Budget Car Rental desk makes it easy and convenient to get a car for a day or two to check out Universal Orlando, nearby beaches and other area attractions. Another nice feature is that this is the only official Disney Springs Good Neighbor hotel that does not charge a daily resort fee when booked outside of a Disney vacation package.

Disadvantages: The hotel is in good repair and is clean but the color scheme and style is a little dated though I thought it was warm and pleasant. They usually have a friendly but somewhat insistent person who approaches guests in the lobby offering extra Hilton Honor points if you listen to their presentation about the Hilton vacation club program but they were very good about respecting our “thank you, we are not interested”.

• The Marketplace – Snack items, beverages and sundries. This is very convenient and we appreciate the selection but the prices are on the high side which is fine if you just need a few items but you might want to pick up bottled water, snacks and other grocery items or have them delivered if you’ll need several things.  

• Restaurants at Disney Springs - a wonderful selection of restaurants offers something for everyone and is within walking distance of the DoubleTree or take the free shuttle available beginning at 6PM.

DoubleTree Suites Shopping

• An official Disney Merchandise Store is available in the lobby for sundries and Disney souvenirs.

• Snack items and sundries are available for purchase at The Marketplace in the lobby.  

• The hotel is within walking distance of Disney Springs and a complimentary shuttle to Disney Springs is available from 6pm to 3AM daily.

• Conference Room Suite with Upgraded Options –First floor suite with a patio and conference table that seats up to eight, perfect for small meetings. The bedroom has one (1) King size bed, separate living room area with sleeper sofa, wet bar, refrigerator and microwave.  Two televisions and one bathroom. 830 square feet, sleeps up to four guests.

• 2 bedroom suite with 1 King Bed, 2 Queen Beds and Sofabed – One bedroom has a king bed while the other bedroom has two (2) queen-size beds, separate living room area with sleeper sofa, wet bar, refrigerator and microwave.  Three televisions and two bathrooms. This suite can accommodate up to eight guests but may cost nearly as much as two connecting standard suites.

• Wheelchair accessible suites and accessibility features for hearing and sight needs available.

For Guest with Accessibility Needs

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton - Disney Springs Area has a limited number of suites with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms featuring minimum 40-inch clearance on all doorways and between furnishings to make maneuvering easy. The vanities and closets are designed with convenient access in mind and some bathrooms also offer a roll-in shower. There are suites equipped with a strobe-light door, phone, and alarm system. These rooms should be selected when the reservation is booked rather than waiting until check-in. Guests who require wheelchairs are encouraged to bring their own equipment or make arrangements with an Orlando-area vendor prior to arrival at Walt Disney World Resort. Wheelchair accessible rooms available featuring either one King bed or 2 queen-size beds.  

Disney Transportation

Convenient bus transportation is available to the Disney World theme parks every 30 minutes from one hour prior to park opening until 90-minutes after after park closing and buses are available to Disney Springs from 6PM to 2AM.

Disney Magical Express airport transportation is not offered at this hotel.

Our Opinion of DoubleTree Suites by Hilton - Disney Springs

I have four children and have often felt very frustrated that Disney World, which is definitely a family destination, has so few reasonably priced options for larger families so I appreciate that the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando - Disney Springs Resort Area meets those needs by offering offering guests comfortable and spacious rooms, on-site dining and convenient amenities, without charging deluxe level prices. All of the staff I encountered where knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Bus service to the Disney theme parks and Disney Springs is a great feature. The Disney Springs resort area is safe and convenient and is lovely with big trees and wide sidewalks. This is a great option if you want a comfortable and convenient hotel with exclusive Disney hotel perks and benefits but guests looking for a Disney themed hotel may be happier at one of the Disney World resorts offering family suites.
