Universal Orlando at Christmas
November 16, 2019 - January 5, 2020
The theme parks are great any time of year but the level of wonder and delight goes through the roof when all of the Christmas extras come to the parks and Universal Orlando is a fantastic choice for a fun holiday experience with both contemporary and nostalgic favorites. The fact that there are only two parks makes it easy to add Universal into a Florida trip that includes beach time or visiting relatives or you can go for an over-the-top, total Christmas extravaganza that includes everything Disney World and SeaWorld or Legoland bring to the yuletide season.
TIP: Not every holiday experience is offered every day so let one of our agents help you plan an itinerary that includes all the festive fun Universal and the other Orlando theme parks have to offer. There is no extra charge for our services when you book your accommodations and tickets through us
Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Christmas
Harry Potter fans will ooh and ahh to the Magic of Christmas projections, fireworks and music at Hogwarts Castle at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees musical show is a winner at Diagon Alley in Universal Studios. While not amazing, the frog choir’s holiday songs also add a festive element to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Warm Butterbeer and holiday decorations add to the magic.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure at Christmas
Did you grow up watching The Grinch Who Stole Christmas? Then you will love all the way the Whos have decorated Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. You may even get a holiday greeting from some of the citizens of Whoville. Don’t miss The Grinchmas Who-Liday Spectacular show which is offered several times a day throughout the holiday season – it is SO good!
You might even want to make a reservation for The Grinch & Friends Character Breakfast which is offered at Circus McGurkus Café. It is nice because it can be uncomfortable to answer Santa’s questions about how well you’ve been behaving but there is just a lot less pressure with the Grinch. Advance reservations required. Cost: $34.99+ tax per person, age 10 & older, and $20.99 per child, age 3-9. Seating times available 8am – 10am on November 16-17, 23-24, 27-30, December 1, 5-8, 12-15, 19-25, 2019.
Universal Studios Florida at Christmas
I LOVE parades and Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s is a definite winner! Similar to the classic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, you’ll see huge balloons and fun floats that feature characters from Shrek, Despicable Me, Madagascar and – of course – Santa Claus! If you also love parades, you may want to line up early in the New York section between the Revenge of the Mummy and Race Through New York to see Santa stop for the tree lighting. The parade is usually offered at 5:30PM.
The Blues Brothers show is always fun but it is even better at Christmas. Another benefit is the milder winter temperature let you enjoy the fun without feeling like you’re going to melt onto the pavement.
An extra special treat are the Mannheim Steamroller concerts offered beginning at 7PM at the Universal Music Plaza Stage on Saturdays and Sundays through December 15. You’ll want to head straight here after the parade. Offered November 16, 17, 23-24, 30, December 1, 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2019. The best part is that there is no extra charge, these wonderful experiences are included in your admission.
Book Early for Best Prices and Availability
You can see why the holiday season is so popular at the Orlando theme parks and availability is limited so it makes sense to book early – you just pay a small refundable deposit at this time and the balance is not due until 30 to 45 days prior to arrival, depending on where you stay. Best of all, you’ll lock in today’s prices and avoid any cost increases that inevitably come over the course of the year.
